Romanian Agroland Group, specialized in retail, agribusiness, food production, and animal nutrition, has secured nearly €1 million in grants through the Modernization Fund to develop four photovoltaic power plants with a total installed capacity of 1.62 MW.
The total value of the projects is €1.26 million, with the group co-financing approximately €260,000.
The projects include the installation of three photovoltaic plants at Agroland Foods Mihăilești, with a combined capacity of 1.32 MW. Additionally, a 300 kW photovoltaic plant will be installed at Agroland Agribusiness Ișalnița, with an estimated annual output of 374 MWh and a reduction of 227 tonnes of CO2 per year. The new systems will cover almost all the energy needs for the company's farms and feed factories.
Agroland's Founder and CEO, Horia Cardoș, said: "Through these projects, we are transforming the company's energy infrastructure and taking a significant step towards energy independence, while supporting the company's ambitious sustainability goals for all production units to operate exclusively on green energy.”
The company estimates annual savings of approximately €370,000 once the four photovoltaic plants are operational.
