State-owned gas producer Romgaz reported gains in sales during the first nine months of 2025, while production was rather flat, with electricity output down by more than one third, according to preliminary data published on the BVB.
The most notable gain was in gas sold from domestic production, which jumped by 12.41% compared to the same period in 2024 to 3.63 bcm.
Romgaz also saw a massive 35.22% increase in the total volume of gas injected into Underground Gas Storage (UGS) facilities to around 2 bcm in 2025. Conversely, gas withdrawn from UGSs also climbed by 25.40%.
Total hydrocarbon production for the nine-month period saw a modest 0.61% increase, totaling 23.96 million barrels of oil equivalent (mln boe). Within this total, gross gas production grew slightly by 0.11% to 23.63 mln boe.
The most dynamic production-related indicator was condensate production, which soared by 56.89% year-on-year to 39,944 tons in the first nine months of 2025.
In contrast, electricity production experienced a considerable dip of 34.21% to 480.1 GWh in the first nine months of 2025.
