The three-month ROBOR index, which is used to calculate the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest rates, increased to 7.25% per annum on Thursday, from 6.47% per annum in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
By comparison, at the beginning of 2024, the index was 6.21%.
The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates for variable-rate leu mortgage loans, increased to 7.31%, from 6.53% on Wednesday, and the 12-month ROBOR to 7.30%, from 6.58%.
Meanwhile, the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC) stands at 5.55% per annum, calculated as the arithmetic mean of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in Q4 2024, down from 5.66% in Q3 2024.
