Romanian private healthcare operator MedLife has announced the full acquisition of Cluj-Napoca-based clinics group Medstar.

As part of the deal, MedLife took over four clinics, a laboratory, light imaging facilities, and two recovery bases in Cluj-Napoca.

This move further expands MedLife's "Sfânta Maria" brand, which focuses on providing accessible medical services, particularly for patients covered by the national health insurance system (CAS).

In 2024, Medstar recorded a turnover of approximately RON 32 million (€6.3 million). The group offers integrated outpatient and paraclinical services across more than 30 medical specialties, supported by a team of over 200 specialists.

Dorin Preda, Deputy CEO of MedLife Group, stated: "We continue the expansion of the Sfânta Maria brand, which is becoming a benchmark in accessible and integrated medicine nationwide. Our consolidated presence in Cluj reflects our commitment to patients and to developing modern medical services, in partnership with local teams already well-rooted in the community."

The current management of Medstar will remain in place, with Ovidiu Piros joining as General Director.

The Sfânta Maria network is already active in 15 counties across Romania, and this latest acquisition solidifies its national footprint.
