Glovo, Uny (formerly E-Mobility Rentals), and Kaufland România have expanded their sustainable delivery initiative to Constanța, introducing 20 zero-emission vehicles and four charging stations for delivery couriers.

This move follows the successful implementation of the "Next Generation Sustainable Electric-Vehicle Ecosystem for Delivery" (NG SEED) project in Timișoara and Bucharest. The initiative is supported by EIT Urban Mobility, an organization of the EU.

Zoe Giardino, Impact & Sustainability Manager at Glovo's Global HQ, said: "We are reaffirming our commitment to sustainable urban mobility and continue to support the development of a modern infrastructure for electric vehicles, while also contributing to increased road safety.”

The new infrastructure in Constanța includes four charging and rapid-battery-swapping stations, with some located in Kaufland România car parks. Over 20 couriers participated in a training program on using the new electric vehicles and associated infrastructure.

The project has already yielded significant results, including the avoidance of over 430 tons of carbon and savings of over RON 830,000 (€166,000) for couriers.

The total fleet of electric vehicles used by couriers on the Glovo platform now stands at 109 units, including 35 e-cars and 74 e-mopeds.
