Romanian DIY retailer Dedeman has announced its expansion into the Republic of Moldova. The decision aims to strengthen economic ties between the two countries and confirm the Republic of Moldova's attractiveness for major investments.

This expansion marks a continuation of the Pavăl Holding group's international vision, which began with tourism investments in 2023. In 2025, the group acquired the Greek DIY chain Praktiker Hellas, one of the most significant transactions in the region.

Dragoș Pavăl, President of Dedeman, said: "The Republic of Moldova is a market with real development potential, proving it is ready to become part of the EU. This investment reflects our confidence in the future, stability, and prospects of the local economy, but also the desire to contribute to the development of the community through the experience and resources we have accumulated in Romania."

The company currently operates 64 stores in Romania and employs over 13,500 people, with an annual turnover of RON 13.12 billion (€2.65 billion). Two new stores are also planned for Romania, with the 65th store opening in Mediaș by the end of this year and another in Giurgiu in 2026.
