Romania received earlier this week €988.7 million from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), representing reimbursement for advance payments made to farmers between 16 October and 30 November 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced.
"The reimbursement of this money by the European Commission shows that our payments to farmers are well-founded and eligible. We ensure the necessary resources so that support reaches farms on time and to maintain financial stability in agriculture, without additional burden on the state budget," said Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu.
Following the reimbursement received this week, the total value of reimbursements from the European Commission in the 2025-2026 period amounts to approximately €4.08 billion and includes all breakdowns for European funds managed by Romania.
These reimbursements confirm the correct implementation of payments to farmers, ensure continuity of financial flows for the payment campaign and reduce pressure on the national budget, with funds being reimbursed by the European Commission.
