Romanian engineering and green energy group Simtel Team has announced the signing of a significant contract valued at €43 million (excluding VAT) with Hepa Energy, owned by a lead company from Israel.

The agreement is for the design, construction, and commissioning of a hybrid photovoltaic and battery energy storage (BESS) plant.

The turnkey project includes the construction of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 67.46 MWp and a BESS with a storage capacity of 180 MWh.

The estimated implementation period is 12 months, after which Simtel Team will also provide maintenance services for a minimum of 10 years to ensure the plant's continuous performance and production.

As the general contractor, Simtel Team will be responsible for all services related to an EPC contract, from initial design and engineering to execution and final commissioning.

The project is designed to integrate advanced equipment and a solution that optimises the joint operation of both the photovoltaic and storage systems.

The renewable energy generated and stored by the plant will be delivered to the national grid.
