Romanian energy group Electrica achieved record financial results in 2025, with preliminary net profit reaching RON 1.22 billion (€245 million), representing a 159% increase compared to 2024.

The company's EBITDA also hit a record RON 2.38 billion (€476 million) in 2025, up 10% from the previous year's restated figure of RON 1.45 billion (€290 million). Individual net profit reached RON 91.8 million (€18.36 million), marking a 32.5% increase.

"The preliminary results for 2025 demonstrate a structural change in Electrica Group's performance," Alexandru Chirița, CEO of Electrica, said. "We consolidated the supply segment in a competitive environment, capitalised on market adjustments from the removal of price caps, and maintained investment pace above planned levels."

Operating revenues grew 12.9% to RON 12.17 billion (€2.43 billion), while the company exceeded its investment programme by 110%, completing RON 878.4 million (€175.68 million) worth of projects compared to the planned RON 797.8 million (€159.56 million). The supply segment saw revenues increase by 36.5% to RON 7.94 billion (€1.59 billion), primarily due to the removal of electricity price caps from July 2025.

The distribution segment contributed 27% to consolidated revenues and 78.8% to group EBITDA, with revenues growing 10.6% to RON 5.21 billion (€1.04 billion). Electrica distributed 18.03 TWh of electricity, serving approximately 4 million users across 18 counties covering 40.8% of the territory.
