Turkish defense tech supplier Havelsan and Karel Europe, the Romanian subsidiary of Karel, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) designed to provide high-tech, integrated solutions for the Romanian defence industry.
The agreement is designed to develop advanced technology-based solutions and meet the specific needs of the local defence market.
Şevket Ünal, Vice President of International Business Development and Marketing at Havelsan, said: “The ongoing business opportunities and bilateral meetings in the Romanian market could soon lead to the realization of new projects. In this regard, we continue to engage with companies based in Romania.”
Yavuz Bayız, Head of Karel's Defense Technologies Group, added: “As Karel Europe, by combining Karel's engineering strength in military communications and electronic systems with Havelsan's software-intensive solutions, we aim to deliver integrated and high value-added solutions for the Romanian defense industry.”
This follows Havelsan's first export to a EU country last year, which involved providing e-maritime solutions to Romania.
