Food Angels Hub, Romania's first investment community dedicated to the food sector, has launched with a mission to develop and scale companies operating in food production, hospitality, and food-related technology.
The Hub brings together leaders with experience in HoReCa, retail, IT, services, and investment, aiming to position Romania as a regional benchmark for food innovation in Central and Eastern Europe. "The complementary expertise of Food Angels Hub's founding members gives us confidence that, together with local food companies and industry partners, we can strengthen Romania's food innovation ecosystem," said Florin Maxim, founding member and managing director of Food Angels Hub.
Food Angels Hub provides growth support for food production, services, and technology companies through investment, mentorship, strategic consulting, operational expertise, and industry partnerships. The founding members include Daniel Boaje, Albert Davidoglu, Daniel Donici (Founder of Artesana), Alfred Dauteuil (Founder of Jerry's Pizza), Călin Ionescu, Costin Mândrea, Florin Maxim (Founder of Hospitality Culture Institute), Utku Ogrendil, Radu Savopol (Founder of 5 to go), and Răzvan Gheorghiu-Testa (Founding Partner of Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații).
According to the United Nations, the global population is projected to exceed 9.7 billion people by 2050, putting pressure on global food systems. Climate change, resource scarcity, and supply chain fragmentation are accelerating the need for innovation in food production, processing, logistics, and technology. "In this context, Food Angels Hub aims to support companies that have already proven a functional, profitable, and scalable business model," added Maxim.
