ArcelorMittal has officially approved the sale of its extensive industrial assets and real estate holdings in Hunedoara to UMB Steel for €12.5 million plus VAT.
The buyer, a Bucharest-based company, will take ownership of all tangible assets, including production equipment and significant land plots.
The transaction encompasses the entirety of the industrial site, featuring a comprehensive array of production facilities.
A substantial portion of the deal involves the transfer of land. The core industrial site accounts for approximately 1 million sqm. Additionally, the sale includes various land plots and buildings located outside the primary perimeter, totalling roughly 494,000 sqm.
The agreement also integrates the slag dump and its associated land, which spans approximately 928,000 sqm. In total, the transaction facilitates the transfer of nearly 2.5 million sqm of industrial and peripheral land.
Under the terms of the agreement, UMB Steel will assume all environmental obligations and liabilities associated with the assets and previous activities conducted at the site and the slag dump. This includes the potential transfer of integrated environmental authorisations and other necessary permits held by the company at the time of sale.
The sale specifically excludes IT infrastructure, such as servers, network equipment, and end-user hardware.
