Romanian deep-tech company Qognifly has launched Drone Wall, an autonomous counter-drone system developed by Romanian engineers and validated in operational conditions.
The integrated detection, tracking, and interception architecture is entering its consolidation phase, with preparations underway for a dedicated factory in Bucharest.
The company already has UAV platforms on the market, including Class 1 tactical ISR UAVs, hybrid fixed-wing platforms with 17+ hour endurance, cargo drones with 50+ kg payload, and commercial anti-hail solutions delivered to over 16 countries.
"The proliferation of low-cost drones has changed the rules of the game in air security. It is no longer sustainable to respond to a €30,000 threat with a €200,000 missile," says Ion Mocanu, Co-Founder and CEO of Qognifly. "With Drone Wall, our team in Romania has turned an idea into a capability validated on the battlefield in Ukraine: an autonomous architecture with reusable interceptors and artificial intelligence that brings economic efficiency back to those who protect infrastructure and communities."
Drone Wall covers the entire end-to-end chain for countering drone threats, from detection and identification to tracking, resource allocation, and interception. The system runs on-edge with low latency and is continuously refined based on data and operational feedback from Ukraine to improve classification, prioritisation, and intervention efficiency.
Based on operational validation results, Qognifly is preparing a dedicated facility in Bucharest for pilot batch production and standardisation of integration and testing stages. The company has signed MoUs with three companies in Ukraine as part of its regional collaboration strategy and is finalising a financing round with a local strategic partner to accelerate testing and expand production capacity.
