Purcari Wineries has signed documentation to acquire Serve Ceptura, pending corporate and regulatory approvals including clearance from Romania's Commission for the Examination of Foreign Direct Investments.
Serve Ceptura produces approximately 0.5 million bottles annually and operates established brands including Vinul Cavalerului, Terra Romana, and Cuvée. The acquisition will add 60 hectares of vineyards to Purcari's portfolio and provide production capacity. The Serve winery is located just 1.5 km from Crama Ceptura, strengthening Purcari's presence in the Dealu Mare wine region.
"We are at the beginning of a new chapter in which we aim to carry forward the tradition of the Dealu Mare wine region and further strengthen Purcari's presence in this area," said Victor Bostan, Founder and CEO of Purcari Wineries. "We respect the legacy built by Guy de Poix at Serve Ceptura and appreciate how it has been continued by his family."
Mihaela de Poix, Co-founder of Serve Ceptura, said the decision was emotional but necessary. "We made this decision because we are convinced that our brands and the legacy we carry will have a stronger future within a group with international presence, resources, opportunities and a global vision," she said.
Serve Ceptura was the first private winery established in Romania after 1989. The company manages 60 hectares of vineyards and operates winemaking facilities with storage capacity of approximately 1 million litres.
Purcari Wineries manages approximately 2,000 hectares of vineyards across Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria, delivering wines to over 40 countries.
