Mark Twain International School (IS) is preparing to open a new flagship campus in Balotești, representing a €30 million investment in private education in Romania. The opening is scheduled for September 2028.
The 6-hectare campus, located between DN1-Km 21 and Lake Cociovaliștea, will accommodate approximately 1,500 students aged 1.5 to 18. The facility will offer both bilingual and international divisions, providing a complete educational pathway from early years to high school with dual curriculum options.
"The new campus in Balotești is a major step in the expansion of Mark Twain IS and a benchmark for Romania's education system," said Anca Macovei Vlăsceanu, Co-Founder and CEO of Romania Education Alliance and Founder of Mark Twain International School.
The campus is developed in partnership with Partener Construct Logistic and a group of real estate investors, under the Romania Education Alliance, which is backed by Morphosis Capital and the school founder.
The projec will feature four main buildings with 15,000 sqm of built area, including a sports complex with semi-Olympic swimming pool, cultural centre, and outdoor recreational facilities.
The facility will offer both Romanian national curriculum and International Baccalaureate programmes, with students able to choose between Romanian National Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate upon graduation. The campus will be easily accessible from Bucharest via the new DN1 junction and A0 ring motorway.
