Penny Romania surpasses €2 billion revenue in 2025

Penny Romania ended 2025 with revenue of RON 10.6 billion lei (€2.1 billion), marking a 12.01% increase compared to the previous year. The discount retailer opened 40 new stores, reaching 456 units nationwide, and completed its fifth logistics centre in Mihăilești, Giurgiu County.

The company's expansion plans target €3 billion in investments by 2035, aiming to extend the network to 1,000 stores and develop logistics capabilities. For 2026, Penny plans new store openings to get closer to Romanian consumers.

"2025 was a landmark year for Penny Romania, marked by surpassing the €2 billion revenue threshold and 40 new stores opened, bringing us closer to our customers," said Daniel Gross, CEO of Penny Romania. "We completed our fifth logistics centre and continued supporting Romanian producers and investing in our team. We continue with our plan for the coming years: 1,000 stores and €3 billion investments by 2035."

The new Mihăilești logistics centre is the first in Penny's network operating 100% without gas heating. Currently, 88% of Penny's suppliers are Romanian companies, with 68% of the company's revenue coming from products manufactured in Romania. The 3RO range, promoting products with main ingredients from Romania, represents 55% of Penny Romania's total revenue.
