Oil and gas major OMV Petrom has announced that its wind and photovoltaic projects in Romania have a combined capacity of 2.4 GW.
This has been achieved through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, positioning the company as a key player in the transition to cleaner energy sources.
In a move to bolster electric mobility infrastructure nationwide, the company has also developed 900 electric vehicle charging points. This initiative aims to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles and support the growth of a sustainable transportation network across the country.
Adding to its green initiatives, the company has received approval for a €750 million strategic investment in a new SAF/HVO unit at its Petrobrazi facility.
This advanced unit will produce sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, contributing significantly to the decarbonization of the aviation and transportation sectors.
These developments are included in OMV Petrom's sustainability declaration that is aligned with the European ESG reporting framework.
