Bacău Airport to invest in PV system

Business Forum
The Bacău International Airport has announced plans to build its first-ever photovoltaic park, an investment worth over RON 25 million (€5 million).

The new facility will include a 1.25 MW solar power plant and a 2.064 MWh energy storage system, with an expected annual output of 1,605.648 MWh of green energy.

Radu Bezniuc, General Director of the airport, said: "This project is not just an investment in infrastructure, but a demonstration of our commitment to the community we serve. The Bacău Airport is becoming more sustainable, more efficient, and future-ready."

This project is projected to meet over 70% of the airport's energy needs while cutting emissions by 982,496 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

The reduction is comparable to the environmental benefit of planting around 45,000 trees annually.
