Greenvolt Power has secured €348 million in financing for the construction of a 253.1 MW wind project in Ialomița county, Romania.
The financing package was structured alongside a group of leading financial institutions including UniCredit Bank, Erste Group Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Société Générale, BRD and Siemens Bank.
The project represents one of the largest private renewable energy developments currently under construction in Romania and is expected to reach commercial operation in 2027. With a sales agreement signed with Engie Romania at the end of 2025, Greenvolt Power remains responsible for construction and commissioning until commercial operation date.
"A project of such scale and characteristics naturally requires significant capital and a solid financial structure, which we have once again secured from renowned financial institutions," said João Manso Neto, CEO of Greenvolt Group. "Their support clearly reflects confidence in our execution capabilities and our ability to deliver."
The Ialomița wind farm will become one of the largest private renewable energy developments currently under construction in Romania and is part of the broader Wind Rose platform (506 MW), one of the country's significant private renewable energy initiatives.
In Romania, Greenvolt Group owns a utility-scale project portfolio comprising 555 MW of wind energy, 77 MW of solar energy and 156 MW of battery energy storage projects. The company is also active in the distributed generation segment, offering on-site renewable energy solutions for corporate and industrial clients through Greenvolt Next.
