Iulius Dan Plaveti has taken over as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Hidroelectrica starting 10 June 2026, with his mandate running until 7 November 2027.

The appointment comes at a crucial time for Romania's largest power producer as it accelerates investments in renewable energy production, modernises existing facilities, and develops wind and solar projects. The company is also integrating energy storage solutions.

Plaveti brings over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, regulation and executive management. He has previously coordinated organisations and projects of strategic importance for Romania's economy, including leadership roles at Complexul Energetic Oltenia and the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).

"For me, Hidroelectrica doesn't just mean numbers, projects or investments. Hidroelectrica means people. People who have carried forward this company's tradition," Plaveti said on his first day in office. "In the mandate I'm beginning today, I want us to build together. We face important challenges, but also extraordinary opportunities."

The current Board structure includes Plaveti as Chairman and CEO, Bogdan Nicolae Badea as CIO, Radu Ioan Constantin as CAO, and Ianaș Rădoi as COO. Constantin will continue handling CFO responsibilities until a designated board member takes over that role.
