Exim Banca Românească has provided approximately €14 million in financing for a new greenfield investment - Thermotop Technology's first factory for polyisocyanurate foam (PIR) thermal insulation boards.

The total value of the investment, a partnership between the ICCO group and TOPANEL, a Romanian manufacturer of thermal insulation panels, stands at nearly €20 million.

This marks a first for the Romanian market, as it is the country's first local production unit for PIR thermal insulation boards. These materials are used in civil and industrial construction and thermal rehabilitation projects.

Traian Halalai, Executive President of Exim Banca Românească, said: "Exim Banca Românească believes in the power of the local economy and stands with all producers who generate added value, jobs, and competitive products made in Romania. The financing of the Thermotop factory is an investment in the future of efficient and sustainable construction in Romania and represents just one example of our ability to offer financial solutions that stimulate our clients' business potential."

Irina Tănăsescu, Commercial Director of Topanel, said: "Through this investment, we align ourselves with European trends and reduce dependence on external supply chains. We are confident that, with Exim Banca Românească by our side, we will become a regional benchmark for quality and innovation."

The new factory has an estimated annual capacity of 6 million sqm and will serve both the domestic and foreign markets in Southeast Europe. The facility occupies a total area of approximately 30,000 sqm, with 9,000 sqm dedicated to the production hall. Thermotop Technology was founded in 2023, and construction began in 2024.
