Lemet sales increased by sigle-digit to RON 330 million in 2023

Lemet, one of the largest furniture manufacturers at the national level and one of the largest retailers through the LEMS brand, recorded sales of RON 329.9 million in 2023. "The figure represents a single-digit increase compared to 2022", said Alexandru Rizea, LEMET general director.

Lemet, a 100% Romanian company that operates the industrial platform in Brebu commune, Prahova county, carried out investments of RON 10.2 million in 2023, in production and in the retail segment. For CSR activities, the company allocated the amount of approximately RON 0.5 million.

The company developed the LEMS store brand to sell its products and to be as close as possible to potential customers. Currently, the LEMS network has the largest national coverage, approximately 75,000 square meters of retail in almost all counties of the country. Lemet operates a network of 70 stores set up to the same high design and quality standards that identify themselves as part of the LEMS brand. On December 31, 2023, the company, together with the LEMS network, had 1,600 employees.

Green Energy at Lemet

„The increase in the electricity bill is entirely caused by the change in the purchase price which increased in 2023 by 32% compared to 2022 and by 153% compared to 2021. The amount of electricity taken from the national system decreased in 2023 by 21.5% compared to 2022 and by 35.2% compared to 2021.

In order to reduce costs and contribute to increasing the green component in the value of Lemet products, we have built five photovoltaic plants, totaling 1810 kW in installed power. The electricity produced is equivalent to the reduction of 960t/year of CO2 emissions", said Alexandru Rizea, general director of Lemet.

The company was established in 1991 and owns production lines and warehouses with a total area of more than 40,000 square meters. Approximately 3,500,000 chipboard and MDF panels are processed here annually, over 80,000 solid wood units and over 13,000 upholstery units are produced. In November 2023, the first production line consisting of innovative equipment with Industry 4.0 and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) features was commissioned. It is about an investment of approx. RON 9 million, the technology of the year 2023 that is able to work in the parameters of the years 2024 - 2030.
