Sipex sees turnover, profit fall in Q1 2025

Business Forum
Sipex, a Romanian distributor of construction and finishing materials listed on the BVB AeRO market, reported a turnover of RON 66.5 million (€13.38 million) in Q1 2025, a 4% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.

This decline is attributed to stagnant sales in March due to adverse weather conditions and extended payment terms in the construction sector.

Overall operating revenues reached RON 68 million (€13.68 million), a 3.8% decrease from Q1 2024, while operating expenses slightly decreased to RON 69.2 million (€13.92 million).

The company's net loss amounted to approximately RON 1.9 million (€0.38 million).

Irinel Gheorghe, CEO of Sipex, stated: "We are aware of the current market challenges, especially those caused by the lack of fiscal predictability and pressures on operational costs, but we are confident in our long-term strategy. The construction market remains a key pillar of the national economy, and our company is prepared to seize opportunities. Our focus remains on sustainable growth, including the development of a production unit for construction materials."

Despite the challenges, the company's total assets increased to approximately RON 139 million (€27.97 million), nearly a 4% rise, while total liabilities decreased by about 15% to RON 54.5 million (€10.97 million).

For 2025, Sipex has budgeted revenues of over RON 388 million (€78.07 million) and a net profit of RON 14 million (€2.82 million).
