mateco Romania expands fleet with PSM Rent acquisition

Business Forum
mateco Romania, the local subsidiary of the international mateco Group which operates in 15 countries across Europe and South America, has acquired PSM Rent, a significant player in the Romanian equipment rental market, through an asset deal.

Founded in 2019 as the rental division of the PSM Group, PSM Rent primarily focused its operations on Southern Romania.

The company built a solid reputation for professionalism and reliability, offering a diverse fleet that includes scissor and boom lifts, and more recently, generators, forklifts, and lighting towers.

Cristian Hiver, GM of mateco Romania, said: "The acquisition of PSM Rent is part of mateco Romania's growth strategy and underlines our ambition to consolidate our leadership position in the Romanian access and industrial equipment rental market."

Anthony Pille, Eastern Europe Director within the mateco Group, added: "This transaction strengthens our local presence and reflects mateco's long-term commitment to building a strong, service-oriented network across Central and Eastern Europe."

Following the transaction, mateco Romania will primarily take over PSM Rent's rental fleet. The PSM Group will shift its focus entirely back to its core business: the design, installation, and maintenance of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, and industrial relocations.

The two companies are planning a long-term collaboration, which will include mateco's new regional depot being established in a facility developed by PSM near its operational headquarters in the Ploiești Industrial Park. Furthermore, the PSM Group will remain an important customer for mateco's rental equipment.
