Austrian group Lagermax Logistics has expanded its European network with the inauguration of a new, state-of-the-art logistics centre in Romania.

The new hub is strategically positioned to provide direct access to pan-European transport corridors, being located near the A1 motorway and the border with Hungary.

The facility features 24,000 sqm of warehouse space and 1,000 sqm of modern offices. It is divided into four flexible units designed to meet diverse client needs. The building is certified Breeam Excellent, a global standard that confirms adherence to the latest requirements for energy efficiency and sustainability.

The new hub offers a range of services, including warehousing, rapid distribution, and overnight delivery, particularly for the automotive industry. This investment consolidates the group's presence in Eastern Europe and addresses the rising demands of the logistics sector.

The new hub is a continuation of the company's previous development at Curtici, which served as a regional economic engine.

Richard Pöschl, CEO of Lagermax Group, said: "Through this new location, we are sending a strong message: Lagermax considers Romania a truly growing market and a region where we want to invest and succeed together. The new warehouse will play a key role as a logistics centre, providing attractive jobs and acting as a reliable partner for our clients."

With a turnover of €770 million and a workforce of over 4,100 employees across 85 locations in 15 countries, Lagermax has grown from a local operator into an international group.
