Romanian entrepreneurs Dragoș and Adrian Pavăl are expanding their investment in Switzerland with the acquisition of a 6,582 sqm plot adjacent to the Waldhaus Flims Wellness Resort for CHF 4 million, according to Romanian Hospitality Newsletter.
The site currently houses a curling arena, which is expected to be demolished after it is vacated in spring 2027. Plans for the plot envisage additional accommodation capacity for the resort, potentially including serviced apartments.
If such units are sold, 20% of the resulting profit will be allocated to the Waldhaus investment fund until CHF 3 million has been accumulated. The municipality of Flims has also secured a 25-year pre-emption right designed to maintain the site's hotel-related use.
As Property Forum previously reported, Pavăl Holding and Lithuanian hospitality group Apex Alliance acquired the five-star Waldhaus Flims Wellness Resort in 2024. Apex Alliance Hotel Management was appointed to operate the property, which was acquired with plans for refurbishment and reopening.
The Waldhaus Flims investment followed Pavăl Holding's acquisition of the historic Grand Hotel Gardone in Italy in 2023, also in partnership with Apex Alliance.
