Romania's GDP increased by 0.3% on the unadjusted series and 1.5% on the seasonally adjusted series in the first six months of the year, compared to the first half of 2024. According to provisional data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), GDP in Q2 2025 was 1.2% higher in real terms than in Q1.
Compared to the same quarter in 2024, Q2 2025 GDP recorded an increase of 0.3% on the unadjusted series and 2.3% on the seasonally adjusted series.
"The seasonally adjusted series of quarterly GDP for previous periods has changed compared to the provisional version, published in press release no. 222 of 5 September 2025, following the revision of data for the period 2018-2024 and the revision of estimates for Q2 2025," said an INS representative.
On the seasonally adjusted series, the estimated GDP for H1 2025 was RON 926.9 billion ($185.3 billion), a real-terms increase of 1.5% compared to H1 2024.
On the unadjusted series, the estimated GDP for H1 2025 was RON 821.8 billion ($164.3 billion), a real-terms increase of 0.3% compared to H1 2024.
For Q2, the estimated seasonally adjusted GDP was RON 467.6 billion ($93.5 billion), a real-terms increase of 1.2% compared to Q1 2025 and 2.3% compared to Q2 2024.
On the unadjusted series, the estimated GDP for Q2 2025 was RON 446.4 billion ($89.3 billion), a real-terms increase of 0.3% compared to Q2 2024.
