Gabriel Gătejoiu named new President of Romanian HR services association

Business Forum
Gabriel Gătejoiu, HR Operations & Business Development Director at Professional HR Agency, has been appointed as the new President of the Association of Human Resources Service Providers (AFSRU).

Gătejoiu takes over from Sorina Donisa, CEO of Prohuman Romania, who led the association for the past two years and strengthened AFSRU's role in social dialogue and labour market legislation adaptation.

"For me, AFSRU is more than a professional association - it's a strong community where each member contributes to transforming the labour market and creating an environment where flexibility, professionalism and trust become standard," said Gătejoiu.

One of the association's most important initiatives is its involvement in the inter-institutional working group for repatriating Romanian workers from abroad, coordinated by the Presidential Administration. AFSRU dedicates time and resources to understand employers' needs directly, identify real job opportunities and build a framework for Romanians abroad to have reasons to return home.

AFSRU is also working actively to update legislation regarding temporary employment of non-EU citizens, a critical necessity in a labour market increasingly affected by staff shortages. Through constant dialogue with authorities and social partners, the association promotes a modern, transparent and functional legal framework that responds to both employers' needs and those seeking stable employment.

"The labour market is undergoing profound transformation, from digitalisation and AI to the growing skills deficit and increasing need for flexibility. I want AFSRU to remain a strong and credible voice in dialogue with authorities and all stakeholders involved," added Gătejoiu. AFSRU is a member of the World Employment Confederation, which brings together HR service providers from over 50 countries, providing access to global know-how and validated regulatory models from other markets.
