Fitch change outlook on Romgaz's rating from stable to negative

Business Forum
Rating agency Fitch has revised the outlook on Romgaz's rating from stable to negative and confirmed its BBB- rating for long-term debt, the natural gas company said in a report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

The revision to Romgaz's rating outlook follows the recent revision to Romania's sovereign rating outlook dated December 17, 2024.

"Accordingly, the revision of Romania's sovereign rating outlook from stable to negative leads to a similar revision of Romgaz's rating outlook," the report said.

According to the cited source, the report issued by Fitch reiterated that the rating "reflects Romgaz's dominant position in the Romanian natural gas market, the potential for production growth as a result of the development of the Neptun Deep and Caragele fields and the conservative financial policy".

The first rating was assigned to the Company by Fitch on May 21, 2024, and is the subject of the current report submitted to the capital market on May 22, 2024.

A few days ago, Fitch revised the outlook on the rating of Societatea Națională Nuclearelectrica from stable to negative, while confirming the IDR (Long-Term Issuer Default Rating) to 'BBB-'.
