Romania to set transitional gas price for households by 2027

Business Forum
Romanian PM Ilie Bolojan has announced that a transitional period for natural gas pricing will be implemented between this April and the end of March 2027.

During this timeframe, prices for domestic consumers will no longer be capped but will instead be managed through administrative measures.

The price of gas for households will be regulated across the entire supply chain, encompassing producers, transporters, distributors, and suppliers.

"Given the challenges of the current year, it is natural to take these measures. From 2027, Romania will hold a significant advantage as we bring additional gas resources from the Black Sea online. This should lead to a reduction in gas prices and eliminate any supply issues during periods of extreme winter weather," said the PM.

These administrative pricing measures will not apply to industrial consumers.
