Bucharest region transport disrupted by snowstorm

Business Forum
Heavy snowfall and strong blizzards led to the cancellation of several flights on Wednesday morning. Five aircraft were diverted from to alternative airports, the Bucharest National Airports Company said.

Flights on Henri Coandă and Aurel Vlaicu airports may register delays due to the necessity of de-icing, which airlines perform after passenger boarding, as well as ground operations being slowed by heavy snow.

Additionally, 20 CFR Călători trains were cancelled on Wednesday due to adverse weather conditions. The snowfall is currently hampering rail traffic in areas under weather warnings.

The public transportation in Bucharest was also operating slower, while certain transit lines suffered heavy disruption due to snow accumulation on tracks or roads.
