Rompetrol refineries to shut down for maintenance

Rompetrol Rafinare will halt operations at its Petromidia Năvodari and Vega Ploiești refineries in early March for a scheduled technological turnaround lasting approximately 20 days.

The technological shutdown follows a regular calendar, with general turnarounds scheduled every four years and intermediate technological shutdowns every two years. The works will focus on inspections and reauthorizations of production units and operational flows, in accordance with current legislation.

Equipment cleaning, preventive inspections and replacement of components such as catalysts will be carried out to maintain and increase production yields, ensure product quality, and guarantee safe operation for employees and the environment. Rominserv, the general contractor for the KMG International Group, will carry out the works with support from other specialized companies.

The turnaround of both refineries is being carried out simultaneously, as the Vega refinery uses finished and semi-finished materials supplied by Petromidia Năvodari. Throughout this period, the company will continue to meet its contractual obligations, with deliveries of petroleum products to customers ensured from its own stocks or with support from the KMG International Group's trading division.

KMG International holds 54.63% of Rompetrol Rafinare directly and indirectly, while the Romanian State through the Ministry of Energy owns 44.7%.
