ING launches digital solution for joint spending account

Business Forum
ING Bank Romania announces the launch of the account for joint spending ING Together, dedicated to those who choose to manage their money together with other close people. The solution is available exclusively in the ING Home'Bank mobile app, from where the holders of current accounts in RON can directly empower, with no trips to the bank, up to three other people on an already owned account or on a new account opened for this purpose.

"At ING Bank Romania, we believe in real life banking, namely in lifestyle-friendly products and services, accessible anytime and anywhere, with ING Together being the perfect expression of this approach. It is the solution that facilitates a relaxed and transparent attitude in relation to money and to trusted people with whom we choose to use them in everyday life, whether we talk about family, life partners or even close friends. ING Together is essentially a revolutionary financial health tool that allows the completely digital transition from an individual to a collaborative banking and thus responds to a concrete need in the lives of many of us: that of an open and efficient joint spending management," said Eleni Skoura, Executive Board Member and Head of Retail Banking ING Bank Romania.

The ING Together solution is available to Romanian and foreign citizens over the age of 18, users of the ING Home'Bank mobile app who own and use a mobile phone number from Romania. The empowerment is carried out directly in the app from the Products - Your Family - ING Together menu, by selecting the phone number from the address book and filling in the first name, the last name and date of birth of the authorised person.

From the moment the authorised person accepts the invitation received in Home'Bank, that person will be able to:

  • solely issue, straight from Home'Bank, two additional cards (one physical and one virtual) attached to the account;
  • make payments via Home'Bank from the current account and card payments (online and at POS);
  • withdraw cash from any ATM or make card-based cash deposits in RON at ING ATMs;
  • view account transactions (including those of the holder);
  • open or liquidate deposits associated with the account.

Also, through ING Together, account holders can now easily extend the rights of the existing authorised persons (who were previously empowered in the ING Office network). Thus, the existing authorised persons will also be able to access all the facilities brought by the new solution, such as issuing an additional (physical/virtual) card directly from the app, with no further trips to the bank and without losing access to the account.
