Net assets of investment funds slightly decline to €9.9 billion in April

The net assets of investment funds in Romania recorded a slight decrease of 0.9% in April 2025, reaching RON 49.1 billion (€9.9 billion), according to the Association of Fund Administrators (AAF).

Meanwhile, net inflows totalled RON 142 million (€28.5 million) in April.

The net assets of the 95 local open-ended funds remained stable in April at RON 27.9 billion (€5.61 billion), having increased by 5% in 2025. These local open-ended funds registered net inflows of RON 142.7 million (€28.7 million) in April. 

The net assets of the 116 foreign open-ended funds distributed in Romania decreased by 2.7% in April, reaching RON 2.1 billion lei (€0.42 billion). 

For the year 2025, these funds have seen a 6.6% decline. Foreign open-ended funds distributed in Romania, which represent 6.9% of the total assets of open-ended investment funds, recorded net inflows of RON 0.2 million lei (€0.04 million) in April.

Meanwhile, the net assets of the 36 alternative investment funds decreased by 2.1% in April, falling to RON 19.1 billion (€3.8 billion). 

Their assets have decreased by 2.4% in 2025. Local alternative investment funds experienced net outflows of RON 0.8 million (€-0.16 million).
