Ebury appoints Cosmin Bucur as new Country Manager in Romania

Business Forum
Ebury, the global fintech specialising in international payments and FX risk management, has appointed Cosmin Bucur as its new Country Manager for Romania.

Bucur brings almost 30 years of experience in the financial services sector in Romania, with expertise in financial markets, transactional banking and driving commercial agenda for the corporate sector. Before joining Ebury, he held senior management roles at global banks including ABN AMRO Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland, as well as local banks like Carpatica Bank. He then led Moneycorp for seven years, helping to kickstart the fintech landscape in Romania.

Kees Veerman, Managing Director - Europe, UK, Switzerland and Canada, said: "Cosmin is a professional in financial markets, with a proven track record in leading teams and client relationship management. His experience and knowledge will strengthen our local team, drive our next phase of growth and further expand in the region."

Romania serves as the key hub for Ebury's CEE operations. The company's mission in Romania is to empower businesses to operate globally through its digital platform and customer-centric approach. SMEs form the backbone of the Romanian economy, yet their international ambitions are often hampered by slow, complex and costly cross-border transactions.
