Matei Ciobanu appointed Growth & Development Director for Edenred Eastern Europe & Japan

Edenred has named Matei Ciobanu as the new Growth & Development Director for Eastern Europe & Japan starting July.

In his new role, Ciobanu will oversee operations across seven key markets: Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Japan, directly supervising the general managers in these countries. 

Ciobanu joined Edenred in 2021, previously serving as the Director of Strategy and Business Development for Europe and Hispanic America. He will report to Dana Sîntejudean, Edenred Director for Europe, Hispanic America & Japan, who assumed leadership of regional operations two years ago, coordinating 23 countries where Edenred is present. 

"I am confident that through strategic execution and strong collaboration, we will exceed expectations and provide added value to our clients and partners," said Ciobanu. 

Edenred, a global digital platform for services and payments, connects over 60 million users and 2 million merchant partners across 45 countries. In 2024, the group managed a business volume of approximately €45 billion.
