Braiconf plans mixed-use scheme in Brăila

Business Forum
Romanian textiles maker Brainconf is looking to start an urban reconversion project on a land plot it owns in Brăila.

The company estimates it will need €10 million to develop its new Braiconf Plaza project.

The funding will be sourced through a mix of private investment, bank financing, and other partnerships. The move will have to be approved by shareholders in the next meeting slated for April 24.

The project, with a planned leasable area of over 26,000 sqm, will include retail, commercial, office and residential components.

Notably, the site will also include industrial units for textile production, preserving the area's manufacturing heritage.

The project's design emphasises sustainability, incorporating features such as green terraces, solar panels, electric car charging stations, and geothermal climate control.

The concept of the mixed-use development was created by NBC/Architect, according to an official presentation. The company did not mention any estimated date for the start of construction.
