Hornbach to open fourth store in Bucharest

Business Forum
DIY retailer Hornbach will inaugurate its tenth local store on 3 September. The new location, the fourth in Bucharest, represents an investment of more than €48 million, including the initial stock of goods.

The new store covers an area of over 45,000 sqm and has a sales floor of over 18,000 sqm. The space includes a 4,900 sqm Drive-In area and a Garden area of over 4,700 sqm. It provides 515 parking spaces, some of which are equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, and over 14,700 sqm of green spaces.

Radu Oniga, General Manager Hornbach Romania, said that the opening was strategically important: “We already have stores in the south, west, and north of the city, and with this opening, we are completing our presence in the capital, covering the eastern part of the city for the first time.”

The company has invested over €300 million in Romania to date and is continuing its expansion plans. The next step is the inauguration of the second store in Timișoara this autumn, with six more stores planned nationwide over the next 2-4 years.
