Business Forum
DIY retailer Hornbach is set to inaugurate its second store in Timișoara on October 1, with an investment of over €44 million.

With a total sales area of over 19,000 sqm, the store features dedicated sections for gardening, aquatics, and a specialised Drive-In for building materials.

The company also invested over €2 million in public road infrastructure, including building more than 500 metres of new streets and a modern intersection to support urban development.

Radu Oniga, General Manager of Hornbach Romania, said: “The success of our first store in the north confirmed the potential of the local market. With the new location, residents from Moșnița, Urseni, or Giroc can now reach Hornbach in less than 15 minutes.”

The store is built on a 55,000 sqm plot and offers 570 parking spaces. The construction adheres to sustainability and energy efficiency principles, featuring photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, LED lighting, and heat recovery ventilation systems.

The new location will create approximately 120 new jobs.
