Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest has earned Breeam In-Use Excellent rating for Asset Performance and Management Performance, becoming the first 5-star hotel in Bucharest to reach this level. This independent certification places the hotel among best-practice performers in Romania for building sustainability.
The evaluation covered 45,000 sqm of facilities. Nationwide, only ten hospitality properties hold a Breeam In-Use certification, and Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest is the only hotel in the capital to achieve excellence in both categories, according to data published on the BREEAM projects website.
The hotel achieved high scores in Energy (82.6%) and Resources (81.25%), demonstrating reduced operating costs and lower environmental impact. Strong performance in Health & Wellbeing (75.38%) confirms enhanced comfort, air quality, and safety for guests and staff. Results in Water (68.96%) and Pollution (70%) reflect responsible resource management and minimized environmental footprint.
"Earning the Breeam certification is a proud moment that reflects our deep commitment to sustainable hospitality, showcasing how environmental responsibility enhances the five-star experience we offer our guests," said Atakan Turhan, General Manager, Radisson Blu Hotel and Park Inn by Radisson Bucharest Hotel & Residence.
Achieving these ratings was the result of a two-year transformation journey. The team worked to update procedures, implement sustainability measures, and improve operations to meet Breeam's standards. "After substantial investments and navigating numerous challenges, I am proud to see Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest recognized for advancing sustainable hospitality in Romania," added Vlad Drăgoescu, Partner - CEE Head of Portfolio Management Revetas Capital.
