UBM Group receives green light for acquisition of Agrifirm Magyarország

Business Forum
The Romanian Competition Council has authorised the acquisition of Agrifirm Magyarország Zrt. by UBM Grain Zrt., part of the UBM Group.

The transaction was green-lit after the council concluded that the deal would not significantly impede competition within the Romanian market.

UBM Grain Zrt., an Hungarian company, specialises in cereal trading. The UBM Group has a notable presence in Romania through two of its subsidiaries: UBM Feed Romania, which operates an animal feed plant, and UBM Agri Trade, a trader of soy and cereal products.

Agrifirm Magyarország, also based in Hungary and part of the Agrifirm Group, focuses on the production and sale of combined and special animal feed products.

The decision from the Competition Council follows an in-depth analysis of the transaction, which found no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
