MET Group buys ready-to-build PV project in Romania

Swiss energy player MET Group has purchased a ready-to-build (RTB) photovoltaic park in Răscăeți (Dâmbovița County), from Kraftfeld, a Vienna-based PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) developer.

The project has a capacity of 80MW and has an EPC contract in place, with construction expected to start this month.

Law firm Vlasceanu & Partners has advised the seller on the deal. The firm added that the deal strengthens Kraftfeld's strategy of optimizing its project pipeline while accelerating the energy transition in the EU region.

MET Group's renewable energy portfolio in Romania includes more than 260 MWp of photovoltaic power plants and 10 MW of co-located battery energy storage capacity.

Romania's retail sales volume (excluding automotive and motorcycle trade) dropped 9.1% year-on-year in January 2026 in gross terms, and 6.5% when adjusted for working days and seasonality, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
