Romgaz sees flat gas production, lower electricity output in H1 2025

Romanian energy producer Romgaz Group has released its preliminary operational results for H1 2025, showing a largely stable performance compared to the same period in 2024.

Total hydrocarbon production saw a slight increase of 0.39%, reaching 16.19 million boe (approximately 2.519 bcm) in H1 2025, up from 16.12 million boe (approximately 2.508 bcm) in H1 2024.

Gross gas production remained almost unchanged, with a marginal decrease of 0.05% to 2,485.6 million cbm in H1 2025. 

Gas sold from domestic production also saw a notable rise of 12.55%, reaching 2,526.6 million cbm in H1 2025. However, electricity production decreased by 24.22 to 341.5 GWh in H1 2025.

Gas injected into storages increased by 13.28%, reaching 929.7 million cbm, while gas withdrawn from storages rose by 27.03% to 1,249.5 million cbm.
