Foraj Sonde Videle acquires UK energy holding for expansion

Business Forum
Foraj Sonde Videle has announced the acquisition of Raffles Energy, a British holding company that owns two Romanian energy companies active in natural gas and electricity production.

The acquired holding controls Raffles Energy and Zenith Resources, which operate a portfolio of natural gas assets including partnerships with Romgaz with participation rates between 50%-60%. The companies function as operators and holders of petroleum agreements, as well as electricity producers and suppliers through gas-to-power solutions.

"These activities are complementary to those carried out by the company and contribute to consolidating the group's position on the energy sector value chain," said the company in a stock exchange notification. The transaction aligns with the group's strategy of expanding and diversifying operations while leveraging operational and economic synergies.

Both acquired companies will continue operating as independent entities without changes to their legal structure or operations, maintaining their petroleum agreement obligations. The group plans to strengthen the local management team to ensure operational continuity and future development, with no impact on existing employees.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and completion of petroleum legislation procedures, with an estimated completion date of 31 August 2026.
