Delgaz Grid planned investments in Romania up 17% in 2026

Delgaz Grid, E.ON's distribution company in Romania, invested over €241 million in natural gas and electricity distribution networks last year. The company has planned a record €282 million for 2026, representing a 17% increase from 2025.

The 2025 investments, funded through own resources and European funds, were over 165% higher than the annual average from 2010-2019, when investments averaged around €90 million per year. Natural gas distribution received €107 million, with 448 km of pipelines and connections modernised. The network was extended by 253 km, connecting 31,000 new consumers.

"As a result of the investments carried out year by year, Delgaz Grid positions itself as one of the most performing distribution operators," the company stated. In the past 10 years, the interruption duration indicator decreased six-fold to 66.7 minutes in 2025 from 438.83 minutes in 2015.

Electricity distribution received €134 million, with 1,405 km of network modernised and 720 km extended. Around 36,500 new users were connected, including 22,000 consumers and 14,500 prosumers. The company completed the ADMS project with an €84 million investment, including €61 million in European funding.

For 2026, Delgaz Grid plans €108 million for natural gas networks and €174 million for electricity distribution. The company is currently managing 15 European-funded projects worth €436 million total, including €325 million in European financing. Major upcoming projects include powering the future Regional Emergency Hospital in Iași and the CARMEN project developed with Transelectrica and Bulgaria's ESO.
