Nestlé practices hybrid work, in accordance with employees preferences

Companies that offer employees the option to work, even partially, from home are much more attractive than those that have reverted to the traditional pre-pandemic office schedule. Consequently, one of the trends of 2024 in the recruitment market, from the perspective of candidates, is to change the full-time office job to one where work from home is allowed.

Four years after the pandemic that caused, among other things, a revolution in the field of human resources, working from home remains one of the main reasons why candidates choose one employer or another, and more recently it is one of the most frequent reasons encounters of job changes. For many professionals, flexibility in the office schedule has come to be more important than the financial package, and this trend is paying off for employers who accept a mix of up to 50%-50% work from home with work at the office.

„At Nestlé we have the option to work hybrid, from home or from the office, up to half of the working week. Our colleagues can choose the days they work from home, and when they work from the office, they can even choose their time slots, of course depending on the specifics of the workplace and internal regulations. Thus, some can work the eight hours starting in the early hours of the morning, others later, so that they can take children to or pick them up from school, for example. As a parent, it is a huge advantage to be able to do your job and at the same time be with your child. The flexibility of working hours offered by Nestlé allows us to organize our time according to our personal and family needs, without compromising professional performance,” explains Sidonia Bodianschi, Talent Acquisition Lead Romania, Nestlé Romania.

Work productivity, the main argument of employers who impose full-time office work, is higher when the employee benefits from a flexible regime, where dead time is eliminated, and everyone is oriented towards efficiency. Many employees prefer the flexibility and autonomy that comes with remote work. For these individuals, work-life integration has become a non-negotiable aspect of their job satisfaction and overall well-being. Employees overwhelmingly prefer hybrid work.

„Most candidates know that Nestlé is a good company, with a flexible schedule, a pleasant atmosphere, a healthy and non-invasive organizational culture. There are strong arguments for those looking for work in a city with traffic problems and long distances to travel, with a fast pace of life and few options for relaxation,” stresses Sidonia Bodianschi.

Nestlé has been active in Romania since 1995, last year it had 588 employees, and the management is provided mainly by Romanian managers, led by Silvia Sticlea, Country Manager since January 2022, but who has been working for the company since 2001.
