BVB indices open higher on Monday

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened the trading week in positive territory, with most of its main indices showing gains in the early hours of Monday.

The benchmark BET index, which tracks the 15 most liquid companies, started the day at 16,250.36 points and quickly climbed to 16,760.73 points by late morning, marking a significant intraday increase of 3.14%.

Other key indices also reflected this upward trend. The BET-TR index, which includes dividends, showed a similar gain of 3.15%. The broader BET-XT index, comprising the top 25 liquid companies, rose by 2.93%, while the financial sector index, BET-FI, saw a substantial increase of 2.22%.

The energy index, BET-NG, also opened in positive territory, with a gain of 2.91%. This broad-based positive movement indicates a strong start to the trading day across various sectors of the Romanian stock market.

The stock exchange opened in the green hours after Nicușor Dan was elected Romania's President.
