Ursus Breweries names new Managing Director

Beer producer Ursus Breweries, part of Asahi Europe & International, has named Dan Timotin as its new Managing Director for Romania, effective July 1, 2025.

Timotin returns to his home country after an extensive international career, holding leadership roles in Egypt, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland.

Timotin brings over two decades of experience in the FMCG sector, with a diverse background spanning soft drinks, coffee, beer, and premium spirits. His career progression includes successive roles as Financial Director, Sales Director, and General Manager. 

Timotin will succeed Michał Mrowiec, who has led Ursus Breweries for nearly two years. Mrowiec will transition to the role of Country Manager for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Austria. The position was previously held by Dragoș Constantinescu, who was promoted to CEO of European and International operations (excluding Japan, Australia, and Asia) at Asahi Europe & International.

The company currently operates three breweries in Brașov, Buzău, and Timișoara, along with a mini-production facility in Cluj-Napoca.
