MedLife opens first fully automated laboratory in Brașov

Business Forum
Private healthcare services provider MedLife has opened its first fully automated laboratory in Brașov, following an investment exceeding €2 million.

The new laboratory, MedLife PDR Brașov, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a fully automated Abbott-GLP line that integrates advanced robotic modules for sample management, high-capacity biochemistry and immunology analyzers (Alinity), and an automated Sysmex hematology line.

Dorin Preda, Deputy CEO of MedLife Group, stated: "Brașov thus becomes a key pillar in our laboratory network, a regional hub offering rapid, safe, and standardized diagnostic services."

This facility is the second largest laboratory within the MedLife Group and will function as a regional hub for Brașov, Covasna, and Mureș counties, as well as a national center for ultra-specialized tests.

Spanning approximately 700 sqm, it serves 25 collection points in the region. A key objective of the laboratory is to develop an ultra-specialized testing center in onco-hematology, offering comprehensive care for oncology patients.

MedLife PDR Brașov, founded in 1994, has processed approximately 15 million tests to date.
