Symphopay payment solution implemented by Profi network

Business Forum
Symphopay is strengthening its position as a payment orchestration solution for retail in Romania, following implementation across more than 1,750 stores in the Profi network.

The Profi network needed infrastructure to ensure transaction processing continuity, including during connectivity disruptions. The challenge involved ensuring payment system stability across all stores, delivering a fast payment experience for customers, integrating automatic payment reconciliation processes into back-end systems across all partner banks, and enabling rapid implementation in all locations.

Through Symphopay's solution, full integration of all 1,750 stores nationwide was achieved in just six weeks, alongside automation of internal payment reconciliation flows. "Symphopay's solution has been essential in ensuring business continuity across our growing network. Their infrastructure has provided us with control over payment systems, allowing for uninterrupted service, optimised performance, and a seamless customer experience," stated Andrei Bica, CFO, Profi Rom Food.

The company facilitates higher transaction approval rates, cost reduction through operational optimisation, and full control over payments through multi-bank payment orchestration, intelligent transaction routing, and plug-and-play infrastructure. Each POS terminal benefits from dual connectivity, Ethernet and GSM, while the payment application monitors network status in real time. In the event of a disruption, the system automatically switches to the secondary connection, without transaction loss or human intervention.

"We designed the fallback mechanism so that payments continue to be processed even during connectivity interruptions. The system monitors network status in real time and automatically switches to a secondary connection or another processor, without POS-level intervention and without impacting the checkout flow," stated Sebastian Ioniță, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Symphopay. As a result, Profi benefits from 100% payment uptime, including during peak periods with traffic exceeding 30 transactions per second, integration with multiple banks, and automatic reconciliation.
